First Trust Canada Launches New Enhanced Income ETF on Cboe Canada
Toronto | November 5, 2024 – Today, Cboe Canada Inc. (“Cboe Canada”) is proud to announce the launch of a new ETF from FT Portfolios Canada Co. (“First Trust Canada”). Now trading on Cboe Canada under the symbol SDVD, the First Trust Vest SMID Rising Dividend Achievers Target Income ETF offers access to enhanced income strategies and exposure to small and mid-capitalization U.S. listed equities.
SDVD aims to provide current income, as well as long term capital growth, by investing primarily in companies included in the Nasdaq US Small Mid Cap Rising Dividend AchieversTM Index as well as listed options on the Russell 2000® Index, or ETFs tracking the Russell 2000® Index. The Fund will seek to achieve its investment objectives by investing all or substantially all of its assets in FT Vest SMID Rising Dividend Achievers Target Income ETF , a U.S.-listed ETF which is managed by an affiliate of First Trust Canada that has substantially similar investment objectives as the Fund.
“We at First Trust Canada are very excited to announce the launch of this new ETF. Continuing with our goal of providing Canadians with relevant and timely investment strategies, the launch of SDVD follows the very successful launch of its sister ETF, SDVY. Similar to SDVY, this ETF provides investors access to quality dividend paying US small and medium cap companies but with the enhanced feature of income” said Nilesh Patel, Head of Distribution at First Trust Canada.
SDVD joins five First Trust ETFs already listed on Cboe Canada. Investors can trade units of First Trust Canada ETFs through their usual investment channels, including discount brokerage platforms and full-service dealers.
“We are pleased to welcome SDVD to Cboe Canada,” added Rob Marrocco, Global Head of ETF Listings at Cboe Global Markets. “Thank you to First Trust Canada for their continued trust and partnership.”
