Manulife Investment Management Returns to Cboe Canada for Launch of Three New ETF Series

Toronto | October 1, 2024 – Today, Cboe Canada Inc. (“Cboe Canada”) welcomes Manulife Investment Management (“Manulife IM”) for the launch of three new ETF series. The new ETF series provide exposure to fixed income securities and are now trading on Cboe Canada under the symbols STRT, PLUS, and OPPS.

Manulife Strategic Income Fund – ETF Series (STRT) – seeks to generate income with an emphasis on capital preservation by investing primarily in government and corporate debt securities from developed and emerging markets. 

Manulife Strategic Income Plus Fund – ETF Series (PLUS) – is designed to maximize total returns through income generation and capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in government and corporate debt securities from developed and emerging markets, including investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, loans, securitized debt and currency instruments. The fund may also use leverage strategies with the aim of maximizing total returns.  

Manulife Alternative Opportunities Fund – ETF Series (OPPS) – aims to generate attractive long-term total returns through income and capital appreciation while mitigating volatility through hedging strategies. The Fund invests mainly in a diversified portfolio of Canadian and U.S. investment grade corporate and high yield fixed income securities. The fund may also use derivatives to hedge exposure to foreign currencies, interest rates and credit markets. The fund may also use leverage.  

The newly listed ETF Series are now trading alongside four Manulife ETFs already trading on Cboe Canada. Investors can trade units of all Manulife Investment Management ETFs through their usual investment channels, including discount brokerage platforms and full-service dealers.
